Food Drive for Graceworks’ Food Pantry

The middle schools in Franklin Special School District and Williamson County will have a food drive April 4th – 22nd. This drive will benefit the Graceworks Food Pantry. Students are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to Poplar Grove Middle School from April 4th-22nd to support this cause.

 

GW’s Wish List:  GraceWorks’ current fuel bag wish list includes individually packaged milk, meals with meat, cereal, fruit cups, applesauce, mac and cheese, juice boxes, granola bars, peanut butter crackers fruit snacks/raisins, pudding/jello cups, salty snacks, jif-to-go, sweets, propel/gatorade, popcorn and ramen.  All food should have an expiration date of 2016 or later.  All food collected must be individual or regular family size portions.  A 50 pound bag of rice for example, would be collected and given to GraceWorks, but its weight will be excluded from the contest.

 

$1=3 pounds: Cash donations are very helpful to GraceWork, particularly for the Fuel Bag program. All cash donation will be included in the challenge by assigning a weight of 3 pounds per dollar.   Any checks should be made out to “GraceWorks” with the name of the school in the notes section.

 

The school to collect the highest weight per student and the school to collect the highest total weight will each receive $1,250 and a trophy. Darrell Waltrip Automotive Group is sponsoring this contest. The details for the contest can be found at www.darrellwaltrip.com/hungerchallenge.
